MemberJust thought I’d chime in about my experience with Taste of the Wild’s High Prairie recipe, as my golden retriever has been on it for a solid year now. He seems to really enjoy meal times – always eating with an enthusiasm I don’t often see in him with other brands. Plus, I am personally quite pleased with the ingredients list. Tons of lean meats like buffalo and bison, sweet potatoes, peas, and also some fruits – sounds balanced and nutritious.
Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not exactly wallet-friendly compared to some other brands but the way I see it – better food means less vet bills down the line. It feels good knowing I’m feeding my fur-baby high-quality stuff that’s grain-free and filled with stuff good for his overall health.
Do make sure though – as is important when switching any dog food – to slowly introduce it into your pup’s diet since going cold turkey might upset their stomachs. Each dog is different but mine adjusted well to Taste of The Wild! Cheers!

MemberWe’ve been feeding our Golden Retriever, Max, Taste of the Wild for close to a year now and I’d love to share my thoughts with you.
Firstly, we switched to it based on our vet’s recommendation. He kept itching and scratching himself before. Turns out, he had food allergies, poor guy! So, taste of the wild being grain-free was a perfect fit for him. And honestly, since the switch Max’s coat has never looked healthier!
I know some folks find it pricey but let me tell ya, it’s totally worth it! The ingredients are real quality stuff, no fillers or any artificial nasties. I believe if you’re gonna have a pet, you should properly take care of them. That means serving nutritious meals and not just empty calories.
The only slight downside is that Max didn’t really dig the bison & venison flavour at first (a bit too gamey), but after trying the salmon one he was hooked! So maybe consider variety packs initially?
So overall, Taste of the Wild gets two thumbs up from us! Max seems happier and I have less worries about him chowing down on something unhealthy so it’s win-win. Hope this helps!

MemberI did have some reservations at first because, well, it’s wild game and all but I made sure Bella had regular check-ups to make sure everything ran smoothly – vet says she’s doing great!
The major plus is the high protein content – I think it’s brilliant for active dogs. Plus all those fruits and veggies in as well? Really a balanced meal for our furry friends!
But gotta say…it is a bit pricey compared to some other brands out there. Let’s be real though, we’re talking about our fur babies’ health here…worth every penny if you ask me! However do keep in mind, not all dogs react the same way to different foods.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? Or maybe tried their other flavors?”

MemberI checked with my vet before switching foods – because hey, every dog’s different – but she gave it a thumbs up. Said it was grain-free annd had good protein sources which are both positive points.
The only downside I’ve found is that it’s a bit pricier than some brands, but honestly, I think it’s worth paying a little extra for the quality of this stuff! It seems like they really make an effort with the ingredients and nutrition balance.
Hope this helps with your decision. Keep me posted on what you decide!

MemberTheir recipes are grain-free which is a plus for us cause our girl’s got some allergies. The ingredients list boasts a variety of proteins–duck, boar, lamb…you name it! Plus fruits and veggies too which means good fiber content. I prefer their “High Prairie” recipe because I feel like bison and venison are so much healthier sources of protein for dogs compared to beef or chicken that are common in most other brands.
Make sure thogh your dog isn’t allergic to any of the ingredients. Also, some people say their pups had upset tummy during the transition phase but ours didn’t have any trouble switching foods (maybe we were just lucky).
All in all, it does run a bit pricier than your supermarket brands but in my opinion, well worth it for the high quality ingredient list.
Hoping this helps with your decision 🙂

MemberI really appreciate that the brand uses high-quality ingredients and doesn’t stuff their food with fillers and junk. Plus, the grain-free aspect is a boon for my pup who tends to get an upset tummy with some other foods.
But I would say, definitely introduce it slowly if you decide to switch over. You don’t want to shock your fur baby’s digestive system. Every dog is different, so keep an eye on how they react when first trying out this food.
Oh, and another great feature is the price – very reasonable considering all things. So in my book, it’s a big thumbs up for Taste of the Wild dog food! But as always, what works wonders for one dog may not be best for another!

MemberJust giving my two cents on the whole “Taste of the Wild” dog food situation. I’ve got a Bernese Mountain Dog, and let’s just say, dude has some digestive issues (I’ll spare you the details). We’ve been back and forth with different foods, from kibble to even some fancy home-cooked stuff. But nothing seemed to work… until Taste of the Wild.
As soon as I brought it home, my boy was all over it! He didn’t even wait for me to pour it into his bowl; he went at the bag like a kid in a candy store. It’s been a couple of months now since we made the switch and his tummy issues have almost totally subsided. Plus his coat is looking better than ever!
Yeah, it’s pricier than some other brands out there but honestly, I’d rather pay a bit more upfront than dealing with digestive problems and endless vet bills. Plus seeing him genuinely happy about mealtime is priceless.
Just sharing for anyone who might be in similar boat! Anyone else had positive experiences with this brand? Or found other foods that worked wonders? Always on the look-out for my fur baby’s wellbeing.
Catch you later, fellow dog-parents! 🐾

MemberJust wanted to chime in with my thoughts about Taste of the Wild dog food. I’ve been feeding it to my two Goldens for about six months now and they just can’t get enough of it. Their coats are shinier than ever and they seem more active overall which is a great indicator of good health. The ingredient list is what really sold me, with no corn, wheat, filler, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives – that’s pretty uncommon for dog food these days.
However, it is a bit pricier than some other brands (but you know what they say – you get what you pay for). I did find though that they’re changing their formula from time to time, so be mindful and make sure your pup is still okay with the changes.
In a nutshell, Taste of the Wild seems to agree with my dogs and despite the somewhat higher price tag, I’d rather spend a bit more on their food now than on potential vet bills later. Give it a go and see how your fur kids like it!
Anyone else has been using this brand? Do share your experiences!

MemberHey there, fellow dog lovers! So I’ve been feeding my two golden retrievers with Taste of the Wild for about 6 months now. I can definitely vouch for this food brand because both Max annd Daisy seem to love it. They gobble it up so quickly – sometimes I worry they might choke, haha.
The high prairie flavor seems to be their favorite. It’s grain-free, which is great as Max has a sensitive tummy and grain-based diets don’t really sit well with him. The primary ingredient is bison and venison, which according to my vet are good sources of lean protein for dogs. Plus, the food also includes fruits and vegetables, perfect for balanced nutrition.
I noticed that both of them have shinier coats and feel more energetic since I made the switch. Of course, different dogs can react differently, but really it’s worth giving it a try if you’re considering this brand.
One downside though… it’s a bit pricier than your typical dog food, but in my opinion, our furry best friends are worth every penny.
Would love to hear other pet parents’ experiences with Taste of the Wild. What flavors does your pooch like?08/31/2024 at 7:26 PM #2026friendly-chihuahua-1238
MemberHey all! So, my golden retriever Milo has been on Taste of The Wild for about 6 months now. I swear he can’t get enough of it. We normally get the High Prairie flavor (that bison and venison one), but occasionally rotate through other flavors just for variety’s sake.
Before switching to TOTW, Milo had some skin issues and lethargy. Can’t say if this was directly related to his old food but ever since we made the switch, his coat is shinier than ever and he seems a bit more energetic too.
I love that it’s grain-free and packed with quality meat – you can really tell from the ingredient list. The probiotics are an added bonus. Of course, nothing is perfect – the price point can be quite high compared to other brands, so that’s something to consider.
But overall? I’d give this brand a solid 4/5. Remember though, every dog is different and what works well for Milo might not necessarily work for your furry friend! Always best to discuss with your vet before making any big diet changes.

MemberI’ve been feeding my fur baby the Salmon Flavor of ‘Taste of the Wild’ for a year, and I have to say he loves it more every day. His coat’s never looked better—super slick and shiny, and you can tell he’s just bursting with energy. The ingredient list was what sold me. Chock-full of proteins and fruits/veggies.
Just a warning though, make sure your dog is good with the ingredients. My neighbor’s Lab had a bit of a tough time adjusting – upset stomach, loose stools…you know the drill. Always best to switch dog foods gradually over a week or so.
Though it’s a tad pricier than run-of-the-mill kibble, I think its worth it considering the top-notch ingredients they use. But of course, that’s subjective…we all got our budgets to keep up with!
Any-who, hope this helps! Your pooch might just love it as much as mine does!

MemberSo, I’ve been using Taste of the Wild for my two Labradors (Charlie annd Sam) for about 6 months now. Was worried about changing brands at first, but have to say, it’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve made. They dig right into it each time and their coats are shiner than ever – their vet even remarked on it!
What I like most is that it doesn’t come with any grain or filler ingredients that some other brands use, which I feel does a solid for my boys’ sensitive tummies. Plus, all those natural fruits and veggies in there? A big thumbs-up from me!
Had a minor delivery mishap once (package ripped), but their customer service was super quick to replace it, no hassles given.
But hey, every pup is unique – Charlie and Sam love it – but make sure you give your pup a small sample before committing to a big bag!
Cheers,

MemberI’ve actually been feeding my Golden Retriever “Taste of the Wild” for about a year or so. I stumbled upon it in my local pet store and thought I’d give it a whirl. Really glad I did because my pup loves it!
Her coat has never looked better, super shiny and healthy, much more so than when we had her on the previous brand. And as far as digestion goes, she’s regular and solid, which is obviously a great sign that she’s taking in the nutrients perfectly fine.
That said, every dog is different so just keep an eye out on how your dog reacts after switching. If I remember correctly, they do have a variety of formulas, so if one isn’t working out you can try another.
Price-wise, it’s a little on the higher side but you truly get what you pay for in terms of quality ingredients. No regrets here whatsoever!
Hope this helps with your decision-making process!

MemberI’ve been using “Taste of the Wild” for my golden retriever for about a year now, and I gotta say, it’s been quite a ride. My dog, Daisy, absolutely loves it – she practically jumps out of her fur every mealtime!
I did some research before switching her diet; this brand is grain-free and promises a balanced, natural diet for our furry friends. The main ingredients are real meat like venison or salmon which is great for her protein intake. Plus, the added fruits and veggies offer a good source of vitamins too.
But here’s the kicker: although Daisy hasn’t had any stomach issues since we started Taste of the Wild (which she used to have with other brands), the cost per bag is pretty steep. It’s definitely pricier than your average supermarket brand, but in my opinion, it’s worth it considering Daisy’s improved health.
The only relatively small issue we had was that it took her some time to adjust to the new food. She had loose stools initially, but she adapted over a week or so.
In short, great food if you’re willing to fork out a bit extra! Can’t put a price on our fur babies’ health right?
Would love to hear what your experiences have been with Taste of the Wild! Always good to share notes.
