Just came across your post about Freshpet food. I’ve been feeding my husky-mix, Baxter, Freshpet for nearly a year now and honestly, his coat never looked better. Bax seemed bored with his old kibble, so thought we’d give Freshpet a shot after a friend recommended it.

It’s refrigerated food, which is a bit different but not too hard to get used to. You’ll find it in its own fridge typically near the pet aisle. It looks more like “real” food than most dog foods – Baxter literally drools every time I open the packet!

We started with their chicken recipe, has peas and carrots mixed up in it too. Bax took to it immediately! No tummy troubles with the transition either (bonus!). You’d think it’s gourmet the way he scarfs it down.

Downside? It’s a little pricier than standard kibble, but they often have coupons on their FB site which is nice. And another thing to remember- since it’s fresh food, you’ve got to use it pretty quick once you’ve opened the pack.

So overall, big thumbs up from our end. I’m happy because Baxter loves it and seems healthier and he’s just pleased dinner time got an upgrade!

Hope that helps with your decision!
    Cheers!

Just as a heads up though, it did take his stomach a few days to adjust to the new diet. Had some digestion issues initially but got back to normal once he adjusted to the change. So if you’re thinking of trying Freshpet out with your pooch, maybe mix it with their old food in the beginning until they get fully used to it.

And let’s face it, this stuff doesn’t come cheap but seeing Max wolf down his bowl and looking more lively, I’d say it’s well worth the price tag. Definitely recommend giving Freshpet a shot if you’re considering it!

I’ve been using Freshpet for a few months now, and lemme tell ya, my fur baby couldn’t be happier! I noticed he was getting bored with his normal kibble, so thought of switching it up with fresh, refrigerated pet food. His coat got shinier in no time at all and I even noticed a little extra pep in his step during our morning walks (as if those weren’t energetic enough already)!

The ingredients are super impressive. Real meat, veggies and we’re talking grain-free – my pup’s tiny belly thanks us for the change. I was a bit on-the-fence about the price initially…it is definitely higher than your typical store-bought kibbles. But hey, I’m all about quality over cost when it comes to my four-legged friend.

Just one small hiccup – make sure you got room in your refrigerator ’cause they do need to be kept cool. All in all, if you care about what goes into your doggo’s bowl (and ultimately their body), give Freshpet a try.

    Bark on!

juts saw your query about Freshpet dog food and thought I’d throw my two cents into the mix. After all, what are fellow dog owners for, right?

So, we’ve been feeding our furballs (Shelby, a excitable Lab, and Winston, a laid-back Beagle) Freshpet for the better part of a year now. I was a little skeptical at first, with the refrigerated section in the pet aisle and all that jazz. But man, I’ve seen such a difference in them both – it’s truly amazing.

The energy! Their coats are shinier than ever before and they seem to have more spring in their step during our morning jogs. The dietary shift seems to have agreed with them perfectly.

And you know dogs, they’ll eat anything under the sun but when you see them genuinely savoring their meals it really puts you at ease knowing you’re giving them something they enjoy – not just another kibble dine-and-dash special.

A word to the wise though – mix it up a bit. They provide quite an array of flavors. We were sticking to chicken and veggies initially but after some time Winston needed a change-up – prefers beef now. So keep those options open.

Anyway, at the end of the day we’re sticking with Freshpet because the pros far outweigh any minor gripes we had originally about price or availability (Which by the way isn’t bad once you get into routine). Give it a whirl and trust me, your fur babies will thank you!

    Take care now,
    Jess

Watch out though, some people say their dogs have had digestive issues when switching over. Start with small amounts you know. Each dog is unique! 🐕👍

I’ve actually been fairly impressed by it! I was a bit skeptical at first because of its priciness compared to other options out there. But Barkley, being a picky eater, practically dove into his bowl and hasn’t looked back since.

His energy levels have noticeably improved and his coat is shinier than ever. It seems like he digests this food more comfortably as well – no more tummy issues.

One thing that did take a bit of adjustment was storage since FreshPet needs to be refrigerated but we worked around it by allocating a specific spot for it in our fridge.

My only real gripes are the availability (my local grocery store runs out quickly) and as mentioned earlier, the price. But honestly, nothing beats seeing Barkley healthy and full of beans so we’ve decided it’s worth the effort and the few extra dollars.

juts remember every dog is different though, what works wonders for one might not fare too well with another. So give it a try and see how your pup responds! Sure hope they love it as much as Barkley does! 🐾🐕‍🦺

Hey there, just wanted to give my two cents on Freshpet dog food. I’ve got a couple of Goldens and they are pretty picky eaters. Tried a number of brands, dry and canned, before finally landing on Freshpet.

The first thing I noticed, was how quickly they took to it. Normally, any change in their food and they’d turn their noses up for a few days but with Freshpet it was love at first bite!

I appreciate that you can actually see the ingredients – real meats and veggies – not just a mash of brown stuff. It’s also refrigerated which makes it feel fresher than standard shelf dog foods.

On the flip side, it’s more expensive than your typical kibble so you gotta factor that into your budget. Also, remember that once opened you should use up the packet within 7 days or so – always check the pack for storage details.

From what I read, the nutritional value is solid enough too; they seem to have found a balance between quality proteins and necessary carbs. My dogs have shown noticeable improvement in their coat shininess and general energy levels since switching to Freshpet. The vet visits have decreased considerably!

Anyways, hope this helps someone weighing their options. Remember every doggo is unique so what works for my fur balls might not be an instant hit with yours, but definitely worth a shot in my experience!

I’ve been feeding my labrador, Rufus, Freshpet food for about six months now. I have to say, this stuff is a game changer! Say goodbye to the tedious texture of standard dog chow and hello to this nutrient-rich, real meat recipe. Since switching over, Rufus has looked better than ever. Cleaner coat and man, his energy levels are off the charts – more playful and all!

As for the cost, yeah it’s a bit on the pricier side compared to some run-of-the-mill kibble options but I feel it’s worth every penny seeing my dude so happy and healthy. Only downside is having to store it in the fridge – took a minute to get used to that.

Overall, 10/10 would recommend Freshpet food. If your fur baby hasn’t tried it yet, they’re missing out! Happy feeding y’all!
