MemberI’m happy to say that we’ve tried Black Gold dog food for our fur-munchkin too. It’s really great stuff – our golden retriever has been on it for about 6 months now. His coat is shinier than ever and his energy levels have skyrocketed! I’ll admit, the high protein content worried me at first, but it seems just perfect for him.
The kibble size is a big plus too – not too tiny and not too big. Perfect bite-size for my boy. And he seems to love the taste which made transitioning from his old brand pretty easy.
Only drawback is that it’s a bit pricier than some of the other brands, but hey, for my pup’s health, I don’t mind spending a little extra. All in all, very satisfied with Black Gold dog food. 😉
Hope this helps! Happy tail wags to your pup! 🐾

MemberJust saw your post on Black Gold dog food. I’ve been using it for my labs for a bit over a year now, and I gotta say, it’s been pretty good! They both have sensitive stomachs, and this stuff seems to agree with them – no more random bouts of upset tummies.
Proteins were nice and high which was important to me. Also loved the fact that it contains no corn, wheat or soy — huge plus in my book! As for the dogs? Well they seem to enjoy it a fair bit. Paws practically do a dance at feeding time haha!
I compared prices with other premium brands out there, and found Black Gold to be pretty reasonably priced too. But here’s the clincher: customer service has been top-notch. Any questions I’ve had were promptly addressed.
The only slight downside is availability. It can sometimes be a pain to find with the constant “Out of Stock” status online. But hey, that’s just probably because it’s so popular *shrugs*
Anyway, digestibility is one of my top factors when choosing dog food and Black Gold does tick that box. So as it stands, I can definitely recommend giving it a shot. Your little canine companion might love it as much as mine do!
Cheers,

MemberI’ve been using Black Gold dog food for a couple months now and thought I’d share my pup’s experience with it. My lab, Sherlock, is not the pickiest eater, but he’s had his fair share of digestive issues in the past, so I’m always on the lookout for something easy on his tummy.
First off, the ingredients list – not bad at all. Lots of real meat which is always a plus, good fiber sources, and no artificial flavors or colors. Sherlock seems to love the taste as he gobbles it down like no tomorrow and there hasn’t been any upset stomach issues either(If you’ve ever cleaned up doggy diarrhea, you know how important this is!)
The one gripe I have though is the price point – it’s higher than regular kibble but I guess you get what you pay for right? All things considered, as long as Sherlock continues enjoying this with no ill effects, I think we’re gonna stick with it.
Anyone else using Black Gold here? Would love to hear your thoughts too!

MemberJust saw this thread and I thought I’d chime in ’cause I’ve been feeding my Rufus (he’s a Lab, for what it’s worth) Black Gold dog food for a couple months now. The switch to Black Gold came after Rufus started showing less interest in his old kibble.
I was initially pretty skeptical about it due to the price—It’s a little steep compared to other products—but figured we might as well give it a shot. Gotta say, I’ve been pleasantly surprised! Rufus seems to love the flavor, clears up his bowl like there’s no tomorrow and his coat has gotten noticeably shinier since we started him on Black Gold. He’s got loads more energy too, which at times can be… erm… a bit much (anyone want an overly-energetic Lab?! Just kidding).
The ingredient list doesn’t seem too shabby either. Lots of good stuff – chicken meal, fish meal, grains – that kind of thing. Though do correct me if I’m wrong guys – not exactly a pet nutrition expert here.
One downside though: the “kibble dust” at the end of the bag. It gets everywhere and Rufus isn’t too keen on it. But hey, overall, very happy with our decision so far!
Anyway, just my two cents. Cheers!

MemberOnly thing is, it’s a bit pricier than what we used to get so I usually stock up when it’s on sale. Also not everywhere stocks it, so sometimes I have to order online which can be a bit of a pain.
As always though, every dog is different. Might want to pick up a small bag first just to test the waters before making the full switch. Cheers and tail wags!

MemberJust saw your post about Black Gold dog food and felt compelled to put in my two cents. I’ve been feeding my golden retriever, Rocky, the black gold blend for a good while now. He seems to realy enjoy it compared to some of the other brands we’ve tried (to be honest, it’s any day a relief when you find something that doesn’t turn up his nose).
The ingredients list also reads quite well– decent protein content from a quality source if that’s something you’re particularly looking for in dog food. A minor setback might be that it’s a bit more expensive than average, but in terms of value for money? My vote goes with Black Gold. Of course, not every dog is the same and reacts significantly differently to different foods.
Overall, definitely worth trying to see if your pup approves!
P.S – It’s always wise to make any dietary transitions gradually over a week or so… lest you want to deal with an upset puppy belly!
Hope this helps!

MemberDon’t know how much you know about the ingredients, but (as someone who cares a bit too much about what I put inside my buddy) I can tell you it’s got a good balance of proteins and carbs. There’s real meat as the first ingredient, which is always a plus in my book.
Price-wise it’s a bit steeper than your average kibble but considering all the benefits, worth it in my opinion. I started noticing changes pretty early on – better digestion, less shedding (a blessing let me tell ya).
One thing to be aware of though – make sure to transition slowly if you switch. We got a bit enthusiastic and Brutus had some upset tummy initially. Take it slow and steady.
In short, 10/10 would recommend Black Gold. It’s a game-changer if you’re willing to shell out a few extra bucks for your pup’s health!
Hope this helps with your decision!

MemberBut just as important, his vet visits have been smooth with no digestion or weight issues. That said, every dog is different. Charlie always had a pretty sturdy stomach.
I say give it a try if you’re thinking about it but also consider other brands and recipes that might suit your pooch better. Heck, switching dog food is almost as hard as changing ours right? Good luck

MemberI’ve been using Black Gold for my two golden retrievers since they were pups. I find that they absolutely love it, and have had zero health issues to date. It’s packed full of nutrients…I checked, believe me, I’m a bit of a health nut. The bag’s label shows it’s got all the proteins, fats, and vitamins needed for a balanced diet.
The best part is how convenient it is – don’t have to supplement it with any other food or ingredients (of course, apart from treats during training). But each dog is different so your experience might vary. Do keep an eye on their responses initially: like digestion, energy etc.
One tiny gripe I have though – it can be a tad bit pricey compared to some other brands on the market. Still, I’d say quality-wise? Worth every penny if you can stretch the budget that far!
Hope that helps! 🐾 Stay pawsome!!

MemberThe thing that won me over was how it improved Sam’s coat. It used to be a bit lifeless before but now? It’s shiny as can be. Also noticed his energy levels are a lot more stable throughout the day. Of course, your mileage may vary but so far, it’s been the best pick for my buddy.
The only gripe if I’m nitpicking is it’s tad pricey compared to other brands available in the market. But considering the health benefits Sam has reaped from this food, I say it’s worth every penny. Hope this helps you guys out! 🐾👍

MemberOne thing I’d warn you though – transition slowly if you’re going to try it. We jumped right in at first, and that was one rough week (no pun intended). After speaking with our vet, we learned that any major diet change should be gradual to avoid upsetting your pet’s stomach.
Aside from that hiccup, Black Gold is working great for us. Also appreciate that they use natural ingredients without unnecessary fillers. Bit on the pricy side, but worth every penny for Archer’s health. Good luck with your choice! 🐾

MemberNow, one thing I’ve noticed with this brand is a little more regularity in his poos – if you catch my drift…they’re a bit firmer, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing from a “clean-up” perspective (sorry if TMI). It also means he’s digesting better which is awesome!
The only drawback is that it’s not as easy to find in stores as some other brands. But hey, it can be ordered online so it’s all good once you plan ahead. I’d suggest giving it a whirl and seeing how your pup reacts to it; every dog is different after all!
Remember, any change in diet should be done gradually though to avoid upsetting their stomachs. Anyway, good luck! Hope this helps!

MemberSuper convenient too because it’s sold in both pet stores and online. Price-wise it’s on par with most premium brands, which could be a bit steeper than the regular stuff. But hey, you get what you pay for right?
One small gripe is that the kibble size is a bit larger than usual. For younger pups or smaller breeds , this might pose an issue as far as swallowing goes. But all in-all, Black Gold woofs… uh, I mean roars, when it comes to quality and nutritional value.
As always though, make sure you keep an eye on how your pooch is responding when transitioning to any new feed. What works for Bowie might not necessarily work for your fur buddy!

MemberJust wanted to chime in on this Black Gold dog food conversation. Been feeding it to my Golden Retriever and Border Collie for the past year or so, and they seem to love it.
First thing I noticed is their energy level – they’re always ready for those long walks! Also, their coats are stunningly glossy, which shows me that the food actually works. Another big win for Black Gold: it’s got a great source of protein, and that keeps my fur-babies healthy and strong.
One downside though, is the price. It’s not exactly easy on the pocket but compared to some other high-end brands out there, I still think it’s worth every penny. The bag lasts longer than you’d expect and between two active dogs, that’s saying something!
Lastly, it wasn’t an immediate switch – my dogs took some time adjusting to the new taste (which maybe was a sign of its superior quality!) but eventually they came around.
I’d definitely recommend trying it out if you’re considering making a change in your pup’s diet. Your four-legged friends might just thank you for it!
Take care!

MemberJust wanted to throw my two cents into the conversation about Black Gold dog food. I’ve been using it for my pup, a Golden Retriever, for about 6 months now. So far, no tummy troubles at all and she seems to enjoy it (well, she’s not a picky eater to start with). Bags are pretty straightforward to open and store too.
On the nutrition side of things, had a chat with my vet before switching her diet. Surprisingly, he gave thumbs up saying it’s decently balanced – not the best out there but definitely not the worst.
With regards to cost, it won’t break your bank if you’re used to buying mid-to-high range foods anyway. So overall, I think it’s been a good value for me. Hope this helps anyone looking into this brand! Of course every dog is different so what works for mine might not work for yours.
Happy feeding!
