MemberJust wanted to throw my two cents into the conversation about Black Gold dog food. I’ve been using it for my pup, a Golden Retriever, for about 6 months now. So far, no tummy troubles at all and she seems to enjoy it (well, she’s not a picky eater to start with). Bags are pretty straightforward to open and store too.
On the nutrition side of things, had a chat with my vet before switching her diet. Surprisingly, he gave thumbs up saying it’s decently balanced – not the best out there but definitely not the worst.
With regards to cost, it won’t break your bank if you’re used to buying mid-to-high range foods anyway. So overall, I think it’s been a good value for me. Hope this helps anyone looking into this brand! Of course every dog is different so what works for mine might not work for yours.
Happy feeding!

MemberTotally agree with most of the feedback here! I have two border collies and switched to Lone Wolf Ranch a few months ago. My dogs are just loving it! Heck, Toto would sell me out for a bite-sized kibble now! 😂 And I must say, their coat has been silkier than ever before.
But I was skeptical at first too, mainly because of the slightly higher price tag. But honestly? Totally worth it, if you ask me. It’s higher in protein which is exactly what active breeds need and there’s no weird fillers or mysterious “meat derivatives”. Oh, and did I mention the lack of grains? No more itchy pups here!
One heads up though – introduce it gradually to your pet’s diet. Mine had a little tummy upset initially but vet told us it’s pretty common whenever you change dog food brands.
Happy feeding, folks! 🐾

MemberDon’t ignore the fact that every dog is different though. Mine took to it well, but some might not. Check with your vet if you’re thinking about switching – make sure you transition them slowly into their new diet so their stomach can adjust. It’s worth giving a shot if you ask me! As we all know, the proof is in the puppy chow!

MemberI saw your post asking about Badlands Ranch dog food. I’ve been feeding it to my good old lab, Rusty, for about a year now. I’ve got zero complaints! His coat is shinier, he’s more energetic and, best of all, he zooms toward his bowl like there’s nothing else in the world when it’s chow time!
Just one small thing: the kibbles are kinda large so smaller pups might have a hard time chomping down. But hey, Rusty doesn’t mind – just gives him something to sink his teeth into! I would totally recommend trying it out but mabye get a small bag first to see if your fur baby likes it!
Paws up from Rusty and me! 🐾

MemberI saw your post about “Sunday Dog Food” and thought I’d share my two cents. I’ve been feeding this to my Golden Retriever, Max, for a couple of months now. Initially, I was a bit skeptical due to its non-traditional ingredients (air-dried veggies, fruits and all), but Max just seems to love it, and his coat has never been shinier. Plus, his energy levels are through the roof these days!
What I truly appreciate about it is the thought they put into creating something that’s both tasty and nutritious. I mean, they even have an in-house veterinary nutritionist (or so they say), which I find reassuring.
The cost is slightly on the higher side, but hey, for quality goods, we gotta pay quality prices, right? 🤷 The only thing I’d toss in as a downside is that Max’s poop took on a vibrant hue when we first switched to Sunday — apparently normal with new diets but something to keep in mind.
Anyway! That’s been my experience so far with Sunday Dog Food. Worth giving it a shot if you ask me. Remember always to transition slowly when introducing new food to your pup’s diet – can’t stress that enough!
How’s everyone else finding it? Hit the thread with your thoughts!
Happy Feeding 🐶🐾

MemberIn terms of health benefits, Max’s coat has never looked shinier, and our vet recently commented on his excellent overall condition—she asked what his diet was! I also appreciate that Evanger’s uses high-quality ingredients without adding artificial preservatives or fillers. Every pet parent knows how important this stuff is.
The only downside might be the price—it’s definitely a step up from some other brands out there. But in my opinion, it’s a worthwhile investment for the quality you’re getting. If your budget allows it, give Evanger’s a try—I reckon your pup will love it as much as Max does! 🐾
09/24/2024 at 12:27 PM in reply to: Just Completed a Month on Farmina Dog Food – Here’s My Review #2404Calm-Hound-3259
MemberPost Body:
Hey there fellow dog lovers! I’ve actually been feeding my Golden Retriever, Bella, Farmina N&D for about 6 months now. Honestly, I can’t rave enough about it.
Before switching to Farmina, we tried a variety of food brands but none agreed with Bella’s tummy as much as this one did. She absolutely loves meal times now, which is a relief because she was cynical with the previous ones.
What grabbed me initially was the quality of the ingredients. Quite impressive! It’s GMO-free, grain-free annd has low glycemic index ingredients that are super healthy for our furry friends. They also have different flavors – Bella’s favorite is the codfish and orange recipe. Yes, I was surprised by the combination too, but hey, Bella seems to love it!
I’ve also noticed great changes in her coat – so shiny and healthy – and she seems more active than before too. As for affordability, it’s a bit pricier than some other brands out there but considering the quality, and how happy and healthy Bella seems to be, it’s honestly worth every penny.
Buying online is a breeze, although availability can sometimes be an issue. So my advice would be to stock up when you can or set up auto resupply if that option is available.
Remember – every dog is unique so what works for one may not work for all. Be sure to transition your pets onto new foods gradually to avoid any tummy troubles.
Hope this helps someone who’s on the edge about trying out Farmina! Happy dog parenting everyone!
09/22/2024 at 9:40 AM in reply to: Looking for a Balanced Diet – My Wellness Core Dog Food Review #2646Calm-Hound-3259
MemberI did notice that it’s a bit pricier than other dog foods, but you get what you pay for, right? All-in-all, if your buddy doesn’t have any special dietary restrictions, I’d say give it a shot! Chances are, they’re going to love it just as much as Bonnie does. Just remember every dog is different so what works for one may not work for another.
Lastly, as always it’s best to make any diet changes gradually to avoid upsetting their tummies! Happy feeding!
Calm-Hound-3259
MemberThat said, it is a bit pricier than other brands, but you know what they say about getting what you pay for, right? If budget isn’t a huge issue for you and you’re looking for quality ingredients without all the nasty fillers, I recommend giving Zignature a go.
Oh, and a quick heads up… My pup took a little time adjusting to it. Maybe because it tastes different from those flavored commercial foods? So don’t panic if your pooch turns up his/her nose initially. Slowly mix it with their current food and gradually increase the portion. Your patience will pay off. Good luck! 🙂

MemberI’ve been using Open Farm Dog Food for about six months now for my golden retriever, Toby, and I gotta say I’ve noticed some significant improvements. For starters, his coat is noticeably shinier and he seems to have a lot more energy than before.
Something that really drew me in was their focus on sustainability. They make sure to source all of their ingredients ethically and have a rigorous testing process just to make sure my pup is getting the best nutrition possible. That level of transparency is so reassuring!
Toby’s digestive issues also seem to have improved with the switch and he undoubtedly adores the taste of every meal. The price point is a bit higher compared to other brands out there but honestly, when it comes to keeping Toby happy and healthy, I think it’s worth every penny.
So yeah! Based on our experience, I’d definitely recommend giving Open Farm Dog Food a try. Just remember that all our fur-babies are uniquely special—with individual dietary needs—and what works wonders for one might not be as effective for another. Always consult your vet before making big changes in your doggo’s diet. Good luck!
07/23/2024 at 5:10 AM in reply to: “Whole Earth Farms Dog Food Review – The Boom or Bust for My Dog’s Diet?” #2672Calm-Hound-3259
MemberSo glad you’ve mentioned Whole Earth Farms dog food! I switched my lab, Max, over to it about six months ago and let me tell you – we’ve seen some major positives. His coat has started sparkling ever since and he’s got a lot more pep in his steps!
We usually go for the grain-free range because Max can be a bit sensitive to grains. The ingredients list is impressive too – plenty of fruits, vegetables, and quality proteins.
The only downside? It’s a tad pricier than some alternatives. But for me, knowing that Max is getting such well-rounded nutrition is totally worth it.
Just as an aside, always remember that not all dogs will respond the same way to any food brand or ingredients so keep an eye on how your pup adjusts. Good luck!

07/08/2024 at 9:21 AM in reply to: Looking for Genuine Nutro Dog Food Reviews: Let’s Swap Stories! #3048Calm-Hound-3259
MemberJust saw your post about Nutro dog food and thought I’d share my own experience. My pup, Daisy, has been on the Nutro Ultra Grain-Free diet for about six months now and the change has been noticeable!
We switched from regular kibble after Daisy started developing some skin problems…and oh boy, what a difference it has made! She’s become way more energetic and her coat is shinier than ever before. Not only that, her breakouts have diminished. Plus, she actually loves the taste of this food. It’s a win in all aspects!
The nutritional balance seems great too – it’s got good doses of fruits and veggies mixed in with the protein. Price-wise – it’s not the cheapest brand out there but considering the improvements I’ve seen in my girl, I’m happy to invest a little more.
Of course, every dog is different so just keep an eye out for any changes. Good luck feeding! Hope this helps you make a decision.
06/28/2024 at 5:33 AM in reply to: Looking for a Genuine Blue Buffalo Dog Food Review? Here’s mine. #2270Calm-Hound-3259
MemberMy vet even noticed the difference and asked what we’ve been doing differently. It’s a bit pricier than some other brands, but for me, it’s totally worth every penny knowing it’s benefiting my boy so much. However, every dog is unique right? So I’m sure what works for Finn might not be everyone’s choice. Some friends of mine mentioned their dogs having digestive troubles after making the switch. As always with diet changes for our furry friends, introduce it slowly and see how it goes!
Calm-Hound-3259
MemberJust saw your question about dogs and pork, and thought I’d jump in with a quick reply! As a long-time dog owner, I sure had that same query a few years back.
In general, it’s okay to give your pooch some pork. But you need to make sure it’s cooked through well (no rare meals for our four-legged friends!). And definitely don’t season it. Many herbs and spices we humans love can be harmful to dogs.
Also remember, any new food can cause an upset tummy, so start small and see how your pup reacts. If all goes well, every now and again shouldn’t hurt.
Be careful with bones though! They can splinter and cause serious damage if swallowed. If in doubt always better to keep it out of their bowl.
Hope this helps!
Cheers! -
