  • So far no worrisome side effects or any runs to the vet because of upset tummy scenarios over here! His coat also looks shiny enough to use as a mirror – not that I’ve tried, mind you.

But hey, let’s talk ingredients. A list longer than my monthly grocery receipt. And honestly, do dogs need parsley and blueberries in their meals? I can’t tell if they’re trying to cater to hipster dogs or what!

Anyway, mainly wanted to stress that despite the suspiciously fancy ingredient list – my wallet is crying by the way – Barkington has been happy and healthy so far. But then again it’s dog food; it’s not rocket science right? Cheers!

So I tried The Honest Kitchen dog food, you know – the one that’s basically dehydrated home-cooked meals for dogs? My pups actually seemed to enjoy it. They devoured it as if it was prime rib on a Friday night!

But let’s talk ingredients, shall we? Simply top-notch, I must say. Free-range chicken, veggies, and no preservatives. Almost sounds like a meal fit for a human. But there is an unpleasant smell, which isn’t surprising considering we are talking about dog food after all.

Price-wise? Well, let me put it this way – make sure your pockets are deep! You might have to sell your second car or choose between feeding yourself or the pup (I’m kidding…or am I?)

So will anyone be rolling out the red carpet for The Honest Kitchen dog food at my house again soon? Perhaps. Just waiting for that stimulus check to land!

Just remember folks – what works for my Rover may not work for yours. Every pup is different!

    Tail wags,
    [Your Name]

So yeah, to say he devours Weruva would be the understatement of the century. Now his standards are through the roof. If it were up to him we’d be on easy street dining on Weruva and sipping tummy-friendly broths every evening!

But hey, no grain, no gluten, it’s all gravy. Watch out though – Spoiling them with this stuff will probably make your usual brand look like fast food. And let’s not even talk about the price. Easy way to go broke if you don’t keep an eye on it.

So to boil it down, does my dog love Weruva? You betcha! But remember guys: in the long run, it might lead down a pricy path. Spoil carefully!

Oh, you’re asking about Farmina dog food? I’ve been feeding my Labrador mix, Buster, the Farmina N&D Grain-Free Pumpkin, Boar & Apple formula for a couple of months now and I gotta tell ya, he seems to really love it. I’m pretty picky about what I give him, but was recommended this brand by a friend.

The ingredients are impressive – lots of meats, fruits and veggies which I appreciate. And it’s grain-free too which is a plus for Buster who gets upset stomach occasionally. Compared to some other brands out there, the protein content is higher too.

I was initially concerned about how Buster might take to it since he is known to be bit choosy. But lo and behold, he gobbled it right up from day one!

In terms of price – well, it’s a tad on the pricey side compared to some supermarket brands but honestly, you get what you pay for and in this case it’s quality food for my fur baby. Plus no allergies or digestive issues so far which is a win in my book.

So yeah, although any dog food change should be carefully considered based on your particular pooch’s age, breed and health condition – but from experience, I’d say Farmina gets two paws up.

    Happy feeding!

I’m a stickler for the details so I did a pretty deep dive into their ingredient list before I switched — turns out the primary source of protein is chicken (win!) and it’s also got some great things like Omega fatty acids, DHA, and a specialized fiber system part of which includes beet pulp.

On the downside though, it does have some cornmeal in it – nothing alarming if your pup doesn’t have specific allergies or sensitivities, but just something to watch out for if they do.

Overall, my buddy’s energy levels are high and his vet check-ups have been all clear – gotta say we’re sticking with Eukanuba for now. How’s that for a non-sponsored review? 😂

Just wanted to chime in on this Black Gold dog food conversation. Been feeding it to my Golden Retriever and Border Collie for the past year or so, and they seem to love it.

First thing I noticed is their energy level – they’re always ready for those long walks! Also, their coats are stunningly glossy, which shows me that the food actually works. Another big win for Black Gold: it’s got a great source of protein, and that keeps my fur-babies healthy and strong.

One downside though, is the price. It’s not exactly easy on the pocket but compared to some other high-end brands out there, I still think it’s worth every penny. The bag lasts longer than you’d expect and between two active dogs, that’s saying something!

Lastly, it wasn’t an immediate switch – my dogs took some time adjusting to the new taste (which maybe was a sign of its superior quality!) but eventually they came around.

I’d definitely recommend trying it out if you’re considering making a change in your pup’s diet. Your four-legged friends might just thank you for it!

    Take care!

First off, they don’t skimp on the protein. They serve up real-deal chicken or beef in their recipes (no gibberish meat byproducts stuff) which my furry king relishes! And for any crunchy granola types out there — yep, it’s organic. No shady GMOs or artificial anything.

And to quickly address the elephant in the room… Yes, it is on the pricier side. But hey! Good quality food ain’t cheap and our canine buddies deserve nothing but the best, right? In case you’re wondering – no tummy troubles with this one either while some other brands had Milo rivalling an erupting Mount Vesuvius!

Been using it for a fair bit now and lemme tell ya, Milo hasn’t looked healthier or happier—his coat practically gleams like he’s bound for a doggy shampoo commercial! Well done Evangers, well done indeed!

Hint of sarcasm aside, seriously give it a shot if you haven’t yet. Your pup might just thank you in tail wags and cuddles!

in reply to: My Experience with Wholesomes Dog Food: A Review #2443

Hey there, fellow dog guardians! Just wanted to drop some two cents on the Wholesomes dog food. I’ve got a couple of fur babies at home – a high-energy Border Collie and a lovely chill Basset. They’re both pretty picky eaters, so finding food they enjoy AND is nutritious has been quite the journey.

I swapped over to Wholesomes about six months ago and I gotta say, I’m liking what I see. First off, the ingredient list isn’t just full of fillers or strange things – it’s real meat first which is huge in my book.
Even better, both my fur babies are gobbling it up; clean bowls every time. There’s something for every doggie taste (my Collie loves their wild fish formula!).

But the biggest change has been in their overall health. The collie’s coat is shinier and the basset’s energy levels seem to have perked up (which for a basset, is kind of miraculous lol!). Seeing them happier makes me believe in this product even more.

Of course, every doggo is unique with their dietary needs so always consult with your vet before changing diets. But for my pups and me, Wholesomes is serving us pretty well. Good luck on your own pupper feeding adventures! 👍

in reply to: Personal Experiences with Beneful Dog Food: A Review #2141

Just thought I’d weigh in on the Beneful dog food convo. My Golden retriever Riley has been eating Beneful since she was a pup and she seems to absolutely love it.

We started her on the Puppy recipe, gradually switching over to the Originals recipe as she got older. Her coat always looks shiny, and she’s never experienced any skin problems or digestion issues. Plus, gotta appreciate that it doesn’t break the bank like some other premium brands out there.

However, let me tell ya, every dog is different! You kinda have to take your own pup’s tastes and reactions into account. If you think your furry friend might enjoy it or if your vet recommends it, I say go ahead and give it a shot!

Also on a side note – their treats have been a huge hit for training! The Break-N-Bites are easy to manage and Riley thinks they’re pretty tasty too.

    Keep wagging those tails! 🐾

We’ve got fewer vet visits now since we made the switch because apparently it’s not chock-full of fillers like other brands. If you can call corn cobs and feathers diet-friendly. Now I’m stuck wondering why I’ve been paying a small fortune for chicken-flavored cardboard all these years?

TLC’s ingredient list is like reading gourmet menu- Salmon meal, herbs, fruits, veggies – you name it. And guess what? Turns out my couch potato has fancier meals than me now! But hey, he seems happier and healthier so no complaints here.

Although mind you, all that gourmet goodness doesn’t come cheap. Every time the bag empties out it feels like there goes another fill up at the gas station! But then again seeing Max’s shiny coat looking like I juts waxed him up makes it kind of worth it.

Just watch out for their delivery times though. Try explaining to a drooling labrador why dinner is 3 days late – Not fun!

Anyway, would highly recommend if you’re ready to pay up. Your fur buddy will thank you (probably).

Anyway, I thought, “Hey, why not give Nature Balance a whirl?” After all, the bag is fancy enough – it even has a picture of a wolf on it! Nothing screams ‘wild and natural’ like a photoshopped wolf!

Setting sarcasm aside, the food isn’t half bad. Sir Barkalot seems to like it, or at least he hasn’t staged any hunger strikes yet. And apparently it’s full of good things like brown rice and sweet potato…you know, all the stuff ol’ Barky would be munching on in the wild…

But hey, don’t just take my word for it. Go give it a try! Worst case scenario: You’re out twenty bucks and your dog continues to live the high life on steak scraps and cheddar chunks. Best case: Your picky pup switches to a slightly healthier kibble diet. Trust me, stranger things have happened!

So there you go – my two cents on Natural Balance. It will neither change your life nor likely have you hanging its poster on your wall. But hey, it does get eaten before getting stale, so by my standards – we’re winning here.

I’ve been feeding my golden retriever, Max, Pure Balance dog food for over a year now. I chose Pure Balance because of its natural ingredients list; their Lamb and Brown Rice recipe is Max’s favorite. He has a sensitive stomach that’s been an issue with other brands before, but Pure Balance seems to work well for him.

The only downside is, it can be a bit pricey compared to some brands, but hey, nothing but the best for our fur babies, right? Also, it doesn’t always smell great, but then again most dog foods don’t (we all know that doggie breath!). But so long as Max gets excited at meal times and his coat stays shiny and healthy-looking – I’ll take it as a win.

If anyone else feeds their pup Pure Balance and notices the same or different results, I’d love to hear your take on it. How’s about that Chicken & Brown Rice recipe? Max hasn’t tried that one yet! Stay woofy everyone 🐾

Been using Merrick dog food for my German Shepard, Honey, the past few months. Not gonna lie, I’ve seen some pretty impressive changes. Her coat’s never looked so shiny and sleek! She had this digestion issue which has improved significantly too, thanks to Merrick.

I could clearly see that she loves the taste. This is such a relief because she tends to be ultra picky with her food usually. Also checked their ingredient list (you gotta be vigilant about what your dogs consume these days) and I was happy to notice it was all natural and grain-free. Quality protein as the main ingredient – my Honey deserves nothing less!

The only downside? It’s a bit pricier than regular dog food brands out there. But hey, for the benefits it’s been giving my fluffy girl, I’m okay with paying a tad more. A healthy pupper is worth every penny.

Anywho, just thought I’d share my two cents on it. Have a great day fellow dog parents! Give your furbabies an extra pat from me and Honey! 🐾👋

in reply to: My Honest Thoughts: Badlands Ranch Dog Food Review #1984

His coat’s got this glossy shine that wasn’t really there before and his energy levels are off the charts. We did try out a few other brands before sticking with Badlands and none seemed to agree with him as well as this one. I’ve also noticed his digestive issues have significantly improved.

There’s a lot of good stuff in there like whole meats, fruits, and veggies—no grain or artificial stuff either which I know can be problematic for some pups. The kibble size is good too, not too big, not too small.

So far so good on our end! Another plus is that they deliver right at your doorstep which has been a godsend especially during these times. Just remember though every dog is unique and what works for mine might not work for yours. So, if any odd symptoms creep up after switching foods, definitely reach out to your vet.

Hope this helps! Good luck figuring out the best diet for your pup. It really can be a journey in itself 😂🐕‍🦺🍲🦴

You’re right on the money wanting to pay special attention to your large/giant pup’s nutrition. They grow super fast and need proper nutrients to help them develop without any joint or bone issues.

I’d absolutely recommend a high-quality large breed puppy food. This ‘ll provide the right balance of calcium, phosphorus, and protein which is really essential for their growth. I speak from experience here; my gentle giant, Duke (Saint Bernard), has thrived on it. Be careful though, too much calcium in this growth phase can lead to some nasty bone problems.

Then the feeding amount – you don’t want your pup to get overweight cause this puts unnecessary strain on their growing bones and joints. The back of your chosen dog food should have guidelines for portion sizes based on your pup’s estimated adult weight – so that’s a good place to start!

Last but not least – slow feeding bowls are great investments! Large pups tend to inhale their food which can cause deadly bloat.

Good luck with your big bundle of joy! Any more questions, just holler!
