  • I’ve been using AvoDerm for my basset hound, Bella, for about a year now annd I’m pretty impressed. She was having some skin issues earlier and our vet suggested switching up her diet. That’s when we found AvoDerm!

The brand boasts of real avocado as a key ingredient which is supposed to be great for a dog’s skin and coat and it seems to hold up the claim. Bella’s coat has got its shine back and her skin’s improved for sure! Also, she can’t seem to get enough of their chicken meal and brown rice recipe.

Price-wise, it’s a bit on the higher end, but I think it’s worth it considering the difference it’s made in Bella’s health. Plus, I’ve noticed smaller poops…easier cleanup. Huge perk!

Remember to gradually introduce any new food though (like over a week or so) to let your pup adjust without tummy troubles. Might not work for all dogs as each one is different, but thought this might help some of you out there!

    Hope this helps!

    Till next time fellow dog-lovers,

    M.

I’ve been feeding my golden retriever, Benny, Kindful Dog Food for a couple of months now and thought I’d share a quick review. The first thing I liked about this brand was that it’s grain-free – Benny has a sensitive stomach and certain foods don’t agree with him.

Anyhoo, packaging is really smart–easily resealable and keeps the kibble fresh. The food itself? Benny seems to love it! His coat is shinier than ever and he definitely doesn’t seem to be having any digestion issues, so two thumbs up from me.

Plus side as well – they put an ingredients list on the bag which is easy to understand. No fancy names you’d need a PhD in chemistry to decipher. Best of all? Their formula’s chock full of proteins from real meat. Win-win if you ask me.

Only slight downside? It’s a bit pricier than other brands we’ve tried, but honestly, seeing as Benny’s in better shape now, I think it’s worth every penny.

Would love to hear what others think about Kindful too!

    Cheers,
    DogDad87

The fact that Nulo is grain-free gives me peace of mind too. Plus, the ingredient list just screams quality- no filler or sketchy by-products which I’m always wary of. Yeah, it may be a bit pricier than other brands out there, but you really do get what you pay for in terms of nutritional value.

Just ensure to make a gradual switch if you’re changing from another brand to avoid upsetting their tummy. Also remember every pup is different so what suits mine might not suit yours. But all in all, I’d give Nulo two paws up and definitely recommend giving it a shot!

I’ve been using Eukanuba for my big guy, Max, for over a year now and I’m pretty happy with the results. His coat’s always shiny, he never misses a meal (a good sign he loves the taste), and his energy levels are through the roof. Plus, no upset tummy incidents so far, which is a win on its own!

One thing though – you have to check the ingredients closely. Max does okay with grains, but I know some dogs can be more sensitive. If your pup’s got any food allergies or sensitivities, you might wanna make sure everything in there suits him fine.

The price tag is a bit high, not gonna lie. But overall for me, quality trumps cost – it’s all about keeping Max healthy and happy!

Anyway, that’s been my experience with Eukanuba. Hope this helps you in making your choice!

Just noticed your post about Blue Buffalo dog food and thought I’d pop in with my two cents. I’ve been feeding my Golden Retriever, Max, this stuff for about 6 months now.

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with it. He seems to love the taste – he always comes running as soon as he hears that bag rustle. But it’s not just about taste right? We want our fur babies healthy so ingredients matter a ton.

I gotta say, Blue Buffalo wins points on that front too. It’s got real meat as the first ingredient and lots of fruit and veggies. Less filler, more nutrition, you know? Plus, it’s free of by-product meals, corn, wheat, soy or artificial preservatives.

Max’s energy level improved noticeably when we switched from his previous brand. His coat got shinier too (a welcome bonus!). Although I’ve read some negative reviews related to digestive issues, but Max hasn’t had any tummy troubles with it up till now.

The only downside is – it’s a bit pricier compared to other brands in the market. But hey, for me it feels worth shelling out those extra bucks considering Max’s overall health and happiness.

Hope this helps! Give your pup an extra pat from me! 🐾🐕‍🦺

in reply to: Trying Freshpet Dog Food: A Review Worth Reading? #2386

juts saw your query about Freshpet dog food and thought I’d throw my two cents into the mix. After all, what are fellow dog owners for, right?

So, we’ve been feeding our furballs (Shelby, a excitable Lab, and Winston, a laid-back Beagle) Freshpet for the better part of a year now. I was a little skeptical at first, with the refrigerated section in the pet aisle and all that jazz. But man, I’ve seen such a difference in them both – it’s truly amazing.

The energy! Their coats are shinier than ever before and they seem to have more spring in their step during our morning jogs. The dietary shift seems to have agreed with them perfectly.

And you know dogs, they’ll eat anything under the sun but when you see them genuinely savoring their meals it really puts you at ease knowing you’re giving them something they enjoy – not just another kibble dine-and-dash special.

A word to the wise though – mix it up a bit. They provide quite an array of flavors. We were sticking to chicken and veggies initially but after some time Winston needed a change-up – prefers beef now. So keep those options open.

Anyway, at the end of the day we’re sticking with Freshpet because the pros far outweigh any minor gripes we had originally about price or availability (Which by the way isn’t bad once you get into routine). Give it a whirl and trust me, your fur babies will thank you!

    Take care now,
    Jess

in reply to: Feeding Fido: My Nutra Nuggets Dog Food Review #2204

I happened to check the ingredients one day annd was pretty pleased with what I found – chicken meal, beef meal, brown rice… Sounds pretty balanced, right? Of course, every fur-baby is different so you gotta monitor how yours personally reacts to the food.

The only hitch though? My local store doesn’t always have it in stock. If you’re considering switching your dog over to Nutra Nuggets full-time make sure you can find a consistent supplier. Gotta keep those tails wagging! 😊 So all in all, I’d say it’s a pretty good bang for your buck!

I recently tried Maev dog food for my golden retriever, Cooper. There’s no denying the quality of their ingredients – grain-free, human-grade meat and veg. What I really appreciate is that they offer raw and gently cooked options depending on your pup’s preference.

Now onto the real litmus test; what did Cooper think? Well, he absolutely demolished it! He’s always been a little picky with his food but he took to this straight away.

The price point may be a bit steep for some folks, although I reckon it’s worth it considering the health benefits. Cooper seems to have a brighter coat, more energy and even his breath smells better.

Good luck with your decision though. Hope this helps! Remember every dog is different so might not ring true for everyone.

It is one of the more affordable natural dog foods on the market which is always a nice bonus. The ingredients list is pretty straightforward annd quality seems consistent in every bag we’ve bought. Plus it’s grain-free which was important for me cause Lucy has a bit of a sensitive stomach.

Do keep an eye on your pup if you make the transition though, as it’s high in protein and some dogs can take a little while to adjust. Otherwise, I’m all smiles and paws-up for this brand!

in reply to: Personal Experiences with Beneful Dog Food: A Review #2146

Just remember, every dog is unique and might react differently to different foods. My advice is, give it a try but keep a close eye on your pup’s response to it. Some dogs may have allergies or sensitivities we’re not aware of. That’s something to consider when switching dog foods. It worked for my little pack! Hope this helps with making your choice!

However…we did have some digestion issues when we first switched over, including upset tummies and disagreeable stools. Thankfully, these problems subsided after a week or two. My advice? Ease into a new food gradually by mixing it with your dog’s current food, and observe for any negative reactions.

Also, the ingredient list does give me pause. Corn is pretty high up there amidst other less desirable fillers. If you’ve got a pupper with a sensitive stomach or specific dietary needs, maybe something grain-free might suit better.

But all in all, for Bella and I? Not too shabby considering the price point. And most importantly: Bella seems to love it!

Remember: every dog is different though! What works well for one may not be ideal for another. Good luck deciding!

I’ve been using Grandma Lucy’s for my golden retriever, Daisy, for about 6 months now and let me tell you – she loves it! The ingredients are top-notch and I appreciate the fact that it’s grain-free.

The prep can be a little messy, but honestly, what isn’t when it comes to dogs? Plus, it’s worth it knowing Daisy’s getting a balanced diet. She had some skin issues and ever since switching to this brand, they’ve improved significantly.

A little heads up thogh, it is kind of pricey compared to run-of-the-mill kibble. But if you ask me, the extra bucks are worth the peace of mind knowing that we’re feeding our fur baby good stuff. And yes, I’ve officially become “that” dog parent (ha!).

Anyhoo, Daisy gives two paws up for Grandma Lucy’s so it gets an A+ in our book. If you’re considering switching your dog’s feed or looking into healthier options, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go.

    Catch ya later!

I’ve been using Evangers for my golden retriever, Max, for quite some time now. You know, he’s the picky sort but with these, he licks the bowl clean every time! I like that their food is grain-free and also lacks any artificial enhancers. Definitely a plus. It’s a bit on the pricey side but hey, quality over quantity, right?

One thing I noticed though – make sure you transition your pup slowly onto this new food because it can potentially upset their tummy due to the richness in nutrients.

Hope this helps! Have a pawsome day! 🐾

The ingredients list is pretty satisfying too – chicken, rice, fruits n veggies… all the good stuff without any unnecessary fillers. Plus, it doesn’t bust my wallet like some other brands out there.

But you know what they say – every pup’s different. If your fur baby has specific dietary needs or allergies, always best to check it over with your vet.

Paws up from me & Cooper for 4health! 🐾
