MemberSo, Fromm you say? Yes, I’ve tried it for my fur babies. Do they like it? Well, depends on if you ask them on a Monday or a Wednesday!
Seriously though, my two Westies seem to have less tummy troubles since we switched to Fromm. No more abrupt wake up calls in the middle of the night with those “ETA 2 minutes before carpet disaster” emergency potty trips, thank heavens! And their coats are looking pretty glossy too.
Do they empty their bowls every single time? Nah. But the drama queen that I am, I’ve come to terms with it being more about their diva nature than the food itself. You know how little fur royalties can be… one moment they act like they would kill for kibble and next pretend they’ve never seen such atrocities in their plate.
So yeah, thumbs up from me. And not just because of the less-imminent-dog-poop-drama at ungodly hours… Well mostly because of that, but hey whatever floats your boat right?

MemberSo, I’ve been feeding my lab mix, Daisy, the Badlands Ranch dog food for a few months now and things have been pretty solid overall.
When she first swapped over from her old brand, she was sniffing around her bowl like it was Christmas morning! Now don’t get me wrong, Daisy has never been one to turn down a meal, but I swear there were heart-eyes popping out at meal time. 😂
The nutritional content seems to be on point too. Her energy levels are great, coat’s shiny as ever and no upset tummy issues — which was a problem with some other brands in the past.
Also loved that they have grain-free options, since our vet suggested we try going grain-less due to some minor allergy issues.
On the downside, the price tag might sting just a little bit more than your run-of-the-mill kibble. But hey, quality stuff usually ain’t cheap. Just make sure it fits your budget before you get your pup’s hopes up!
Overall though? I give Badlands Ranch two paws up! 🐾
Hope that helps anyone considering a switch. Cheers!

MemberBut here’s the hitch – Luna seems less than thrilled about it. Every mealtime turns into an episode of “The Bachelor”, will she or won’t she accept the kibble rose from Pedigree? It’s like she thinks she’s dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant and alas, Pedigree isn’t quite cutting the mustard for her taste buds.
So, take it from me friends, if you’ve got a pooch like my Max who would sell his soul to the devil for a bit of food, then yeah, go ahead and fill your pantry with stacked towers of Pedigree. But if your fur baby has a more refined palette like Lady Luna over here… Well, let’s just say there are other dog cuisines in the sea. Take it with a pinch of salt… or should I say kibble?

MemberI switched over to Nulo about six months ago when my normal kibble was out of stock. Best impulse buy ever! The ingredients read like a gourmet menu and his coat – supermodel shiny! Mind you, he still won’t fetch but hey, at least he’s eating five-star meals while blatantly ignoring my commands.
Finally, that dreaded doggy breath? Virtually nonexistent with Nulo. Guess fish oil does wonders for oral hygiene. Can we get a human version here, please?
The only downside is if your budget’s a bit tight…this stuff runs pricey. But hey, what wouldn’t we do for our pampered pooches? Yeah, 5 stars from me and Fido both. Until next time folks! Oh and remember: Treat your dog like royalty because they think we’re their peasants anyway!

MemberHis coat is shiny, energy level is spot on and he just seems to love the taste (he runs over as soon as he hears the bag rustling!). Plus, it’s grain-free which is super important for him because of some allergy issues. Gotta say the ingredients list looks pretty decent too- lots of real meat and veggies which I appreciate.
However, I did find that it took a bit of time for him to adjust to it at first. So, you might want to introduce it slowly if you’re thinking about switching brands. Of course, every dog is different so what works for mine might not work for yours. Good luck! Hope this helps a bit 🐾

MemberJust saw your post about Kal Kan dog food and wanted to chime in with my two cents. I’ve been using it for about 8 months now for my golden retriever, Bailey. She loves it, no exaggeration. Eats it right up every single time.
I love that it has plenty of vitamins and minerals and the right balance of proteins too. Plus, Bailey’s coat has never looked shinier or healthier which I think is partly due to this diet. That being said, every pup is different and what works wonders for Bailey might not exactly do the trick for yours.
On the downside, it can sometimes be a bit smelly when you first open the can (but then again, aren’t most wet foods?). If your pupper isn’t overly picky over smells but enjoys good taste, this should be just fine!
In terms of price, it’s pretty mid-range. Not super cheap but also not burning a hole in my wallet.
But hey, at the end of the day, talking to your vet before making a switch is always best. They’ll understand better about what specific nutritional needs your furry pal would require! 🙂
Hope this helps!

MemberThe ingredients though, are a cashier’s nightmare — human-grade chicken, fish, pumpkin… it’s like my grocery list! But hey, if it keeps him perky and wagging, the price tag can take a hike.
His favorite is the ‘Wok the Dog’ — an inspired fusion meal of chicken, beef and pumpkin in gravy… Yes, you heard right, gravy. Some nights I stare at his bowl and question my dinner choices!
The silver lining? His coat has never looked better…shiny as a new penny! And his energy? He gives the Duracell Bunny a run for its money. Plus (not to go into TMI territory), his “No. 2” looks way healthier these days. 🙈
However, every Pooch Palate is different — mine might be having Michelin star dreams but yours could prefer good ol’ kibble. Who knows eludes their puppy minds?
So yes, I vouch for Weruva but remember folks; try before you buy bulk! Because no one wants to handle food returns at 7 in the morning when Fido decides he’s had enough of the globetrotters’ menu and wants back on his trusty dry food diet. 😅🐾

MemberI totally get where you’re coming from, I asked the same question when I first got my Frenchie, Bella! Here’s what I learned: while dogs technically can eat pork, it’s not always the best course. Unseasoned, cooked pork in small quantities can be fine. But raw or undercooked pork? Risky business, pal.
Pork has a higher fat content which can cause problems like pancreatitis in our furry friends. Not to mention, their tummies might not handle the richer meats as well as we do. Don’t even get me started on seasoned pork—our fur buddies don’t mix well with many of the spices we use, onions and garlic being some biggies.
So bottom line: a little bit of plain cooked pork now and then? Likely fine. Regular servings or raw/undercooked portions? No bueno! When in doubt, always check with your vet—I do this any time I’m unsure about something for Bella.
Let me know if you need help with anything else! Remember, better safe than sorry 😉

MemberI started feeding my Golden Retriever this magic food about 6 months ago. He initially looked at his bowl as if I’d served him yesterday’s leftovers. Seems his palate took a couple of meals to adjust to the artisanal platter!
Fast forward to now and he seems happier and peppier. His coat is shining as if he’s starring in some high-budget dog shampoo ad. But hey, correlation isn’t causation right? Might be just a coincidence *chuckles*. Or maybe he’s really thriving on this posh nosh.
Biggest downside I’ve found? It’s not exactly budget-friendly. Feels like I’m buying my dog lunch from Whole Foods every day! But then again, he hasn’t turned his nose up at a meal since we switched. So maybe I’m the one getting used to it.
But hey – whatever floats your doggo’s boat (and doesn’t empty your wallet), right? No one food fits all.

MemberNow, for your highfalutin’ Fidos with delicate digestion (yeah, I’m lookin’ at you Poodles with attitude), Natural Balance seems like it could practically double as Michelin star cuisine. Had my buddy’s Shih Tzu positively dancing for more – and trust me, that little fella’s pickier than my ex at a salad bar!
It ain’t rocket science folks – Natural Balance sits pretty well on the high-quality food spectrum. Sure, you’ll have your dissenters moaning about price or pea protein… but hey it’s 2022 people! Pea proteins are in! Even we humans are guzzling down smoothies packed with ’em!
So if you wanna treat your fur-baby & not burn a bigger hole in Mother Earth while doing so, then hey why not give NB a whirl? But don’t take MY word for it – I’m just a random dog lover spewing love for nutritious kibble on an internet forum!
09/08/2024 at 12:41 PM in reply to: Looking for a Genuine Blue Buffalo Dog Food Review? Here’s mine. #2258friendly-dogdad-765
MemberI’ve been feeding my old Labrador, Rocco, with Blue Buffalo for a while now. He seems to really love it and gets excited every meal time. Beyond that, I think what really won me over was the ingredients list – no artificial preservatives or colors and real meat as the first ingredient. Rocco has been more energetic, his coat shinier.
That said, I know some dogs have reported upset stomachs after switching to Blue Buffalo—Rocco had slight diarrhea initially but it settled with time. So be sure to transition slowly if you decide to give it a shot! Remember, every dog is unique; what works wonders for one might not be best for another. Cheers!
09/03/2024 at 5:29 AM in reply to: “Looking for Honest Opinions: Tender and True Dog Food Review” #2809friendly-dogdad-765
MemberLet’s not even start on the ingredients list – organic chicken, no artificial pres stuff. It rolls off my tongue better than my own groceries do! But look out for your wallet; it’s pretty much a print-your-own-money situation – that’s the only downside.
So ya, if you want a dog that prances around like they’re walking on clouds and you have a money tree in the backyard…10/10 would recommend Tender and True. Am I throwing my paycheck at Spot’s fancy meals? Maybe so but hey, nothing too posh for my pooch 😉
08/30/2024 at 10:52 AM in reply to: Just Posted My Maev Dog Food Review – Has Anyone Else Tried It? #2119friendly-dogdad-765
MemberFirst impressions – the packaging is clean and modern. They serve it in portion packets which make them easy to dish out. As for Bowser – well, let’s just say he cleaned his bowl faster than with his old kibble.
Price wise it’s slightly on the higher side, but hey, you’re getting human-grade ingredients straight to your door. No corn syrup or filler stuff – all real meat and veggies. And they craft each meal according to your dog’s weight, breed and even lifestyle! So no worries about overfeeding or underfeeding.
But do be aware that transitioning couldn’t be done overnight – started with mixing half of this and half of his old stuff. Bowser had a mild stomach upset initially which got sorted pretty quick thankfully! Know that this could happen with any diet changes though, right?
Anyways, if you ask me – worth giving Maev a shot. After all, our pets deserve good grub too! 🐾🐶
08/23/2024 at 9:26 PM in reply to: “Grandma Lucy’s Dog Food Review: A Personal Journey with my Furry Friend” #2764friendly-dogdad-765
MemberBut hey, it’s not all glitter and gold crumbs here folks. After a week or so on this haute cuisine canine feast, my wallet feels lighter than my gym-loving buddy after his record-breaking ‘starvation diet’. In short: it ain’t cheap. But can you put a price on gourmet delight for your pup? If you ask Fido… not a chance.
So, yes. It’s yummy yums galore for the mutts but potentially bankruptcy avenue for us humble owners trying to treat our furry besties like kings and queens! If Daddy Warbucks is your next of kin, go forth and indulge your pooch. For the rest of us mere mortals trading our couch change for fancy treats, be warned – this stuff may result in severe side-eye from your bank manager.
Just remember though – happy dog equals happy life… right?? 😅
