MemberJokes aside, I’ve been using this for my dogs recently and honestly, I’ve seen quite some improvement. They seem happier with shinier coats and more energy – you know, all the generic stuff that dog food companies claim.
But there’s also an unreasonable amount of joy they express when they hear the kibble hit their bowls. It’s like introducing a kid to candy for the first time – borderline obsessive.
Interestingly enough, the ingredients list looks clean too – no sign of murky mystery meat or who-knows-what-they-really-are fillers. So far, so good then.
That’s juts my two cents though! Every dog’s different after all; what works for mine might give yours a tummy ache instead. But I’d say give it a whirl if nothing else has worked. Worst case scenario? You’ll just end up with a very expensive garden fertilizer…
08/02/2024 at 5:48 AM in reply to: Just Completed a Month on Farmina Dog Food – Here’s My Review #2411friendly-dogdad-765
MemberI was terrified of changing his food because he’s notoriously sensitive, poor thing gets tummy troubles often. But the vet recommended Farmina saying it has high-quality ingredients and well-balanced nutrients. So, I took a leap based on her suggestion.
I gotta say, I’m impressed so far. Murphy transitioned seamlessly without any belly issues, which was a huge relief! It’s been a couple months now and his coat is shinier than ever! He seems to have more energy too.
It’s definitely not the cheapest stuff on the market but hey, you get what you pay for. Plus seeing Murphy thriving? Totally worth every penny in my book. Only issue I’ve had is availability; sometimes it’s out of stock on places like Amazon and Chewy which can be frustrating.
Overall thogh, I think it’s great quality food and would definitely recommend giving it a shot if you’re considering switching your pup’s diet. What’s everyone else’s experience been with Farmina?

MemberI’ve been using Eukanuba for my pooch, Daisy, for about a year now and I can tell you, she loves it. Her coat’s shinier than ever and her energy levels are off the roof! The vet gave it a thumbs up during Daisy’s last checkup and even noticed her teeth looking great (it apparently helps with dental cleaning too!)
That said, every dog is different – what works for Daisy might not work for your fur baby. Eukanuba does have quite a high protein content (which we love) but this might not sit well with dogs that have sensitive tummies or need less protein.
And let’s be real here folks – Eukanuba isn’t cheap. If cost is a big consideration for you, there may be other good quality brands out there at a lower price point.
But overall? No complaints from my end (or from Miss Daisy!). If it suits your dog’s needs, definitely worth considering Eukanuba.
06/27/2024 at 10:01 AM in reply to: Looking for a Pure Balance Dog Food Review? Check out my experience! #1925friendly-dogdad-765
MemberJust thought I’d weigh in on the Pure Balance dog food subject. We’ve had our border collie, Max, on it for about a year now – and we’re pretty impressed so far.
To start with, it was the ingredient list that caught my eye. More natural, fewer fillers; I mean, that’s all we want for our fur friends right? I also liked that they have grain-free options for pups with sensitive stomachs – a big plus!
Taste-wise (or well, from Max’s perspective), he seemed to like it from day one. No hesitation, straight into his bowl like he hadn’t eaten in days! So yes, two paws up from him.
In terms of his health, we haven’t noticed any negative changes at all. If anything, his coat is shinier & he seems more spirited. Our vet also confirmed there’s nothing concerning about their formulas during our last wellness check.
Remember though, changing your pup’s diet should be done gradually to avoid upset tummies. Also please consult your vet because not all pups are the same!
Hope this helps anyone sitting on the fence. Good luck! 🐾

MemberI really appreciate that the brand uses high-quality ingredients and doesn’t stuff their food with fillers and junk. Plus, the grain-free aspect is a boon for my pup who tends to get an upset tummy with some other foods.
But I would say, definitely introduce it slowly if you decide to switch over. You don’t want to shock your fur baby’s digestive system. Every dog is different, so keep an eye on how they react when first trying out this food.
Oh, and another great feature is the price – very reasonable considering all things. So in my book, it’s a big thumbs up for Taste of the Wild dog food! But as always, what works wonders for one dog may not be best for another!

MemberMax used to scratch himself like crazy due to his sensitive skin but ever since we made the switch, the itching’s significantly toned down. His coat’s pretty shiny too, which is always a plus (he’s definitely attracting some looks in the park 😉)
The ingredients seem top-notch as well – salmon as the first ingredient with zero by-product meals, wheat, corn or soy. It was an easy decision for me annd Max to make.
But remember, every pup’s different! What works for Max may not necessarily work for your furry friend. Always best to speak to your vet before making any diet changes.
Hope this helps with your decision!

MemberI’ve been feeding my golden retriever, Bailey, Merrick dog food for about a year now and she seems to really love it. It’s grain-free which is perfect for her sensitive stomach. Plus, they have a variety of flavor options which is great because it allows me to switch them up and keep her meals interesting.
But onto the important stuff – her health. She’s got shiny fur and tons of energy, so I couldn’t be happier with that! Also, Bailey had some issues with weight gain in the past but with Merrick’s recipe that prioritizes high-quality proteins and low carbs, she has managed to maintain a healthier weight.
The only downside is that Merrick is on the pricier side compared to some other brands out there. However, given the benefits I’ve seen in Bailey’s health and how much she enjoys her meals, I believe it’s worth every penny. Remember, not all dog foods are created equal!
Hope this helps anyone considering this brand!
05/15/2024 at 8:20 AM in reply to: “Stella & Chewy’s Dog Food Review: A Dog Owner’s Honest Opinion” #3018friendly-dogdad-765
MemberAh yes, Stella & Chewy’s. If my dog could write a review, he’d probably give it a 10/10 for “taste like gourmet steak realized in kibble form”. But well, he also thinks shoes are a tasty snack.
In all seriousness though, they do put an impressive list of nutrients on the label. Plus, it’s freeze-dried raw which is a nice bonus if you’re into that sort of thing. But I’ve got to say, my bank account does not appreciate the Stella & Chewy’s diet as much as my pooch does!
And just an FYI – my furbaby’s digestion experienced the roller coaster ride of its life when I switched him cold turkey to the freeze-dried goodness. Maybe should have taken the transition phase more seriously instead of dreaming about emptying the kibble bin for good…Lesson learned!
Other than that, it’s not a bad choice if you don’t mind selling your kidney for dog food expenses. Cheaper options? Sure. Does your dog look at you with eyes full of undying love when they eat those? Debatable.
Best of luck in your dog food saga!

Member04/29/2024 at 3:29 PM in reply to: Just Submitted My Evangers Dog Food Review – Here’s What Happened #2684friendly-dogdad-765
MemberIt’s not the cheapest – I could probably take her to a real Disneyland trip with the money I’ve spent on it (okay that might be an exaggeration, but you get my drift). But, seeing her enjoy it like she’s in gourmet canine heaven… totally worth it. Evanger’s packs their stuff full of human-grade ingredients and none of those fillers or artificial additives that are about as appetizing as cardboard.
I guess life’s too short to eat bad food…or let your furry best friend eat bad food, right? So yes – two paws up from Pickles and an empty wallet from me for years to come. Mimic my decision at your own risk, guys! Check your pockets before plunging into the world of Evanger’s fancy feasts! Ha!
friendly-dogdad-765
MemberFor starters, it’s grain-free which is fantastic for dogs with certain allergies. Boomer specifically had some problems with grains so switching to Instinct has made wonders for his coat and overall health. Plus, the highest ingredient listed on their packages is always real meat – not some mystery substance like a lot of other brands.
Now about the downside, the only one I can think of is its price tag. If you’re budget-conscious, this might pinch a little. But hey, I see it as an investment in Boomer’s health in the long run.
All up to your preference and what you’re willing to do for your little buddy at the end of the day. For us, Instinct’s been a great switch!
Hope that helps out!
04/11/2024 at 11:47 AM in reply to: “Black Gold Dog Food Review: A Dog Owner’s Honest Opinion!” #2423friendly-dogdad-765
MemberJust saw your post on Black Gold dog food. I’ve been using it for my labs for a bit over a year now, and I gotta say, it’s been pretty good! They both have sensitive stomachs, and this stuff seems to agree with them – no more random bouts of upset tummies.
Proteins were nice and high which was important to me. Also loved the fact that it contains no corn, wheat or soy — huge plus in my book! As for the dogs? Well they seem to enjoy it a fair bit. Paws practically do a dance at feeding time haha!
I compared prices with other premium brands out there, and found Black Gold to be pretty reasonably priced too. But here’s the clincher: customer service has been top-notch. Any questions I’ve had were promptly addressed.
The only slight downside is availability. It can sometimes be a pain to find with the constant “Out of Stock” status online. But hey, that’s just probably because it’s so popular *shrugs*
Anyway, digestibility is one of my top factors when choosing dog food and Black Gold does tick that box. So as it stands, I can definitely recommend giving it a shot. Your little canine companion might love it as much as mine do!
Cheers,
[Your Name]03/16/2024 at 12:46 PM in reply to: My Unbiased Pet Pride Dog Food Review: From a Seasoned Owner’s Perspective #2552friendly-dogdad-765
MemberI’ve been using Pet Pride Dog Food for my boxer, Bruno, for over a year now and I’m pretty happy with it. He absolutely loves the flavor and literally dives headfirst into his bowl every feeding time. Plus, his coat has been looking shinier than ever!
However, after reading multiple online reviews about its nutrient content, I was slightly concerned. Just wanted to ensure that my big guy is getting all the necessary nutrients he needs. So far, we’ve had no health issues (touch wood) but it seems like I might need to supplement his diet with a little extra vitamins and minerals just to be on the safe side.
In terms of price tags though, Pet Pride isn’t going to break your bank account. It’s reasonably priced and often on sale at my local supermarket – something that’s hard to resist for a thrifty shopper like me.
It’s one of those “you get what you pay for” situations I guess. But hey, Bruno likes it and his belly is full so at the end of the day, that’s what truly matters to most of us pet parents – amirite or amirite?
Take care,
Sam & Bruno 🐾 -
