But I did notice that it took a while for their tummies to adapt – a minor upset during the first few days of switching. Not sure if it was the brand or just a typical reaction to change. If you decide to switch, I recommend doing it gradually to give your little scamps time to adjust.

Every dog is different, so what worked for mine might not necessarily work for yours. All in all, however, I have had a pretty positive experience with Badlands Ranch. You might wanna give them a try but always keep an eye on how your dog reacts. Hope this helps!

However, as with any dog food, I did my homework first to ensure it was a good fit for my fur baby. It’s decently priced and contains grains like corn and soy which can be controversial for some. Personally, I have not witnessed any adverse reactions from her – no allergies or upset stomach.

One thing I do advise is to switch slowly; if you’re changing from another brand of dog food, gradually mix in some Kal Kan over a week or two. Dogs’ digestive systems can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diet.

Bottom line is every dog’s different so while mine thrives on it, yours might be different. As always, it’s best to consult with the vet first before making any major diet changes. Happy feeding!

Just thought I’d share my two cents on Eukanuba dog food. I’ve actually been feeding it to my Golden Retriever, Max, for the past couple of years annd honestly, couldn’t be happier with it. Max has a super sensitive tum but he’s never had an issue with Eukanuba – no upset stomach or any kind of reaction, thank goodness!

The nutrients in the food seem to be pretty balanced, and his coat has never been shinier. In terms of energy level, it does appear to keep him active throughout the day.

Now, in fairness, the price point is a little on the higher side – compared to some other brands out there. But considering how well Max is doing on it…well, you know what they say about ‘you get what you pay for’. 😉

Anyway, each pup is unique so just because it works for Max doesn’t mean it’ll be perfect for yours. But hey, worth a shot right? Always remember though that gradual changes in diet are key so don’t just dive headfirst.

If anyone else has thoughts about this brand do chime in! Cheers!

Don’t know how much you know about the ingredients, but (as someone who cares a bit too much about what I put inside my buddy) I can tell you it’s got a good balance of proteins and carbs. There’s real meat as the first ingredient, which is always a plus in my book.

Price-wise it’s a bit steeper than your average kibble but considering all the benefits, worth it in my opinion. I started noticing changes pretty early on – better digestion, less shedding (a blessing let me tell ya).

One thing to be aware of though – make sure to transition slowly if you switch. We got a bit enthusiastic and Brutus had some upset tummy initially. Take it slow and steady.

In short, 10/10 would recommend Black Gold. It’s a game-changer if you’re willing to shell out a few extra bucks for your pup’s health!

Hope this helps with your decision!

Just giving my two cents on the whole “Taste of the Wild” dog food situation. I’ve got a Bernese Mountain Dog, and let’s just say, dude has some digestive issues (I’ll spare you the details). We’ve been back and forth with different foods, from kibble to even some fancy home-cooked stuff. But nothing seemed to work… until Taste of the Wild.

As soon as I brought it home, my boy was all over it! He didn’t even wait for me to pour it into his bowl; he went at the bag like a kid in a candy store. It’s been a couple of months now since we made the switch and his tummy issues have almost totally subsided. Plus his coat is looking better than ever!

Yeah, it’s pricier than some other brands out there but honestly, I’d rather pay a bit more upfront than dealing with digestive problems and endless vet bills. Plus seeing him genuinely happy about mealtime is priceless.

Just sharing for anyone who might be in similar boat! Anyone else had positive experiences with this brand? Or found other foods that worked wonders? Always on the look-out for my fur baby’s wellbeing.

Catch you later, fellow dog-parents! 🐾

I’ve been using Pure Balance for my golden retriever, Bentley, for over a year now and honestly, I’ve noticed a big difference. His coat is so shiny and he seems to have boundless energy. He used to have digestion issues with the previous brand we were feeding him but ever since we switched to Pure Balance, those problems seem like a thing of the past.

The ingredient list is impressive too. It’s grain-free (which was a major plus point for me) and packed with wholesome ingredients, no shady additives or fillers. Bentley pretty much turns his nose up at anything else now – guess we both are sold on Pure Balance!

If you’re still unsure, read up more reviews or better yet, consult your vet to ensure it’s the right fit for your dog’s specific needs. Every pup is unique after all! Good luck 🙂

in reply to: Feeding Fido: My Nutra Nuggets Dog Food Review #2203

I’ve been feeding my golden retriever, Marley with Nutra Nuggets for about a year now and thought I’d share my two cents on it. One of the main reasons I love it is because it’s all-natural and nutritionally balanced. Noticed some definite health improvements in Marley – shiny coat, better digestion and he seems more energetic too.

Price-wise, it does punch a bit heavier than regular brands but Marley enjoys it and given the health benefits, I reckon it’s worth every penny. Not to mention, despite being tasty (according to Marley at least!) it doesn’t have those artificial flavorings or preservatives, which puts me at ease.

The only downside I’ve seen so far is that it’s not always available in local pet stores around my area. We’ve had to resort to online orders once or twice which isn’t ideal but manageable.

Overall thogh, solid 4/5 from us! 👍🐶

Marley says woof (which I assume means he agrees)!

But heads up, it’s a little pricier than your run-of-the-mill kibble. Depending on your budget, that may not be ideal. But you get quality ingredients in return so for me, it was a worthy investment.

And a bonus point: they offer a subscription service so I don’t need to remember ordering every month. So yeah, thumbs up for Maev from both me and Marley!

in reply to: Sharing My Thoughts: An Instinct Dog Food Review #2287

I’ve been using Instinct dog food for a few months now and my two pups seem to love it. Personally, I like the fact it’s grain-free – that’s a huge plus for me as my Beagle has some allergies and she’s been responding really well to this change. It might be pricier than other brands but I feel like it’s worth the investment for their health.

I got them on the Raw Boost line – it combines high-protein kibble and freeze-dried raw pieces together in the same bag, which they absolutely go mad for! My dogs have definitely had improvements in their coat health and energy levels.

Just remember to transition your dog slowly onto a new brand though, don’t just switch from one meal to another. Each pup’s stomach is different and you don’t want to upset them with a sudden change!

Anyway, I’d definitely give Instinct a thumbs up. mabye grab a small bag first to see if your dog takes to it? Cheers!
