I’ve been feeding my pup Kal Kan for about a year now, and she seems to love it. I was super skeptical at first, mostly due to its cost being way less than the premium brand stuff you see in pet stores. But I saw that it has all the meaty goodness she needs – chicken, beef, and fish along with grains and veggies.

The best part? My dog’s coat has been looking shiny and she’s healthy as can be – might be because of the Omega 6 fatty acids they have in this food. Plus, no digestive issues which were a nightmare with some other brands. Annual vet check-ups have also been great, so her nutrition levels seem okay.

Just watch portion sizes though! Kal Kan is pretty high in calories and it’s easy to overfeed without realizing. And always remember that every dog reacts differently to different foods. So if you notice any negative changes or feel unsure at any point, best to consult your vet.

But overall from my experience? Kal Kan is budget-friendly, nutritious, and my dog loves it!

    Hope this helps!

Cheers to healthy pups y’all! 🐾

Sunny’s coat has been super shiny, he’s got plenty of energy and doesn’t have any gastrointestinal issues anymore. As a bonus, he absolutely loves the taste (though let’s be real…he loves every taste!). It might be pricier than some other brands but I believe you get what you pay for.

What really won me over was their ingredient list – packed with quality proteins and no filler grains. A huge plus for dogs with allergies or sensitivities.

So yeah, gives TLC a shot! Keep us updated if you decide to switch!

in reply to: Looking for Honest Vital Essentials Dog Food Reviews #3321

I’ve actually been using Vital Essentials for my golden retriever. She absolutely loves it! I like the ingredients they use, feels a lot more ‘real’ compared to some cheaper brand options. It’s grain-free and full of protein which is perfect for my active girl.

The only downside has been the price, it’s a bit on the expensive side. But from my viewpoint, I’m happy to fork out a little extra if it means a healthier diet for her. She’s part of the family after all, right?

I did try to transition slowly — mixing in old food with Vital Essentials until she was primarily eating VE. Cooler yet, she also had fewer digestive problems once we completed the switch.

Oh yeah – also noticed her coat seems shinier and she’s got more energy too. So far so good! Give it a shot if your budget allows, might be just what your pup needs. Cheers!

in reply to: Feeding Fido: My Nutra Nuggets Dog Food Review #2196

Rex seems to love the taste too; he hoovers it all up. And let’s not forget those glossy fur compliments we’ve been getting lately at the park! The only downside has been a bit of gas (boy, you wouldn’t want to be in a closed room with him after dinner haha!) but that subsided once his system had adjusted.

To anyone on a budget but still keen on giving their pooch quality food, Nutra Nuggets certainly deserves consideration. Has anyone else seen similar results or am I just a lucky owner? Let me know!

juts popping in real quick to share a few thoughts on feeding our large and giant breed pups. It’s super important to keep an eye on their diet since they grow at such a rapid pace!

For starters, it’s best to opt for food that’s specifically formulated for large breeds. Remember, it’s not just about them gaining weight but growing proportionally and keeping those joints healthy. They need different proportions of protein, fats, and carbohydrates compared with their smaller counterparts.

Also, take it slow with the meal size because overfeeding can possibly trigger something called ‘growth spurts,’ leading major health problems down the line.

And don’t forget the calcium! We all know how these big ones need strong bones. But guys, it’s more about balance than volume here. Too little or too much calcium isn’t good either, so sticking with balanced commercial dog foods is typically the best route to go.

Lastly (and probably my favorite part of having a four-legged buddy), regular vet check-ups are crucial to keep an eye on their growth and adjust nutritional plans accordingly.

Sending cuddles to all your fur babies out there! 🐾

Just wanted to chime in with my thoughts about Taste of the Wild dog food. I’ve been feeding it to my two Goldens for about six months now and they just can’t get enough of it. Their coats are shinier than ever and they seem more active overall which is a great indicator of good health. The ingredient list is what really sold me, with no corn, wheat, filler, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives – that’s pretty uncommon for dog food these days.

However, it is a bit pricier than some other brands (but you know what they say – you get what you pay for). I did find though that they’re changing their formula from time to time, so be mindful and make sure your pup is still okay with the changes.

In a nutshell, Taste of the Wild seems to agree with my dogs and despite the somewhat higher price tag, I’d rather spend a bit more on their food now than on potential vet bills later. Give it a go and see how your fur kids like it!

Anyone else has been using this brand? Do share your experiences!

So, I recently switched my golden retriever, Bella, over to Kindful. What prompted me was the fact that it’s grain-free and made with real meat as the main ingredient – pretty solid selling points, right?

Yeah, definitely took a little while for her to adjust to it (she’s always been a Purina girl). But after about a week or so, she really started wolfing it down like nobody’s business. And don’t get me started on her energy levels – they’ve shot through the roof! She’s playing more and there’s even been an improvement in her coat, it’s got this new shine and smoothness!

That being said, it is pricier than some other options out there. But honestly? If you can swing it, I’d say go for it. At the end of the day, our pooches deserve the best we can give ’em —within reason of course— and Kindful seems to tick most of the boxes.

Oh, one more thing though! If you’re switching over from another food brand, do it gradually. Mix some of their old food with the new stuff at first to make it easier on their tummies. Anything too sudden might cause some digestive upset.

Anyway, that’s just my two cents! Everyone’s experience varies based on their dogs’ tastes and dietary needs but in my case – thumbs up for Kindful!

Just want to say that I’ve been feeding my golden retriever, Charlie, Farmina’s dog food for about six months now and the results have been really impressive. Her coat shines like never before and she’s got so much energy — it’s like she’s a pup again!

The food is a little pricier than other brands on the market but I think her health is worth every penny. Plus, Farmina uses high-quality ingredients, no weird preservatives or anything of that sort, so you’re really getting what you pay for. And in our case, Charlie has had no digestive issues whatsoever which was a big problem with some other brands we tried.

That said, every dog is different. What works wonders for one might not yield the same results for another. If you’re still on the fence about trying Farmina out, maybe consult with your vet and see what they suggest could be worth a shot.

Hope this helps! Best of luck with your pup!

I opt for the Artisan Chicken, because my fur baby is a bit of a fussy eater. Loves his chicken-based grub! Definitely more expensive than other brands, but what won me over was the whole ‘quality ingredients’ deal. I mean, free-range chicken? Hello! It’s like I’m giving him homemade food without spending hours in the kitchen.

So yeah, my vote goes for Grandma Lucy’s! Plus you can easily reseal the bag for freshness – bonus points there! Anyone else have experience with their different flavors?

in reply to: Can dogs eat smoked meat? #2188

Oh, I’ve been down this road before with my ol’ gus, a feisty Lab! So, smoked meat is not exactly toxic for dogs, but it might bring some problems if they eat too much. The seasoning and high sodium content can really upset their stomach or even cause pancreatitis in severe cases. And of course, no bones from smoked meats – these can splinter and be a choking hazard. So, while Gus did enjoy his little piece of leftover BBQ every now and then, it was super-duper occasional.

On the daily diet side of things, I stick mostly to dog-specific food because they’re specifically formulated to meet our furry buddies’ nutritional needs. But hey, each pup is different. Always best to seek advice from your vet!

    Cheers and happy dog-parenting! 🐾

Granted, it’s slightly pricier than our old food (used to give her Pedigree), but knowing that she’s getting such nutrient-packed meals makes it worth every penny. It cracked me right up when I noticed she even started barking at the bag – Definitely a critic’s yum from her!

One gripe though – wish their packaging was a little more eco-friendly. Otherwise, two paws up from us! 😀🐾

The ingredient list surely had me hooked big time – chicken, brown rice and a whole lotta good stuff! Plus, it didn’t take long to switch from his old brand either – no tummy troubles to wade through. The value you get for the quantity and quality of the product is top notch. I mean, Diesel chomps it right down every time.

One thing though, had to be a bit proactive about dental hygiene cause it ain’t too crunchy. Elsewise, it’s all good news here with Member’s Mark dog food from Sam’s Club.”
