MemberShort answer, yes, dogs CAN eat smoked meat. But honestly, it’s not the best option for them. Think about it this way – the smoking process usually involves a lot of sodium (hello, salt) and sometimes even spices and preservatives, none of which are particularly good for our furry friends. Too much salt can lead to thirst overload and potentially kidney damage over time.
If you’ve got a bit of plain cooked meat from dinner, it’s likely a better choice IMO. Just remember that moderation is key, whatever it is you’re feeding them aside from their standard doggie chow.
Cheers!

MemberHowever, like anything you feed your furry friend, keep an eye on them after introducing a new food. Each dog is unique with their own dietary requirements and reactions to food. As always, it’s best to gradually introduce new foods to their diet instead of one big swap.
It’s a bit on the pricey side compared to some other options out there but for Oscar and me, the benefits far outweigh the cost. Giving it a try won’t hurt thogh; your pup might love it too! Just remember, every dog is different so what works for Oscar might not be perfect for another pooch. 🐾

MemberHey there, just thought I’d chip in my two cents on 4Health dog food. I have a couple of furbabies at home, Max and Daisy, and they’ve been on the grain-free variety for roughly a year now.
I gotta say, they simply love it! Their coats are shinier than ever before, energy’s increased (if that was even possible), and those periodic skin irritations Max used to have — no more! The biggest win is seeing less filler in the form of corn or wheat which isn’t great for our dogs.
Just keep an eye on the ingredient lists though, cause different recipes have differing protein sources. For instance, some owners notice their dogs react negatively to chicken but do awesome on lamb or fish-based recipes. It’s all about finding what suits your dog best, ya know?
Oh and pro-tip: mixing in some canned food with the dry kibble makes for a tasty change-up; Daisy barely lets me put her bowl down before she’s digging in!
So all in all, would absolutely recommend giving 4Health a try! Every dog is different but ours really thrived on this stuff. But as always, consult your vet before making any big dietary changes.
Safe tail wags to all your pups!

MemberSo, I’ve been using Acana for about 6 months now and honestly, I’ve got nothing but praise. My lab, Charlie, just loves it. His coat’s gotten more shiny and definitely feels healthier to touch. Even his energy level has picked up a bit – I’m having trouble keeping up with him on our walks nowadays!
The ingredients are high quality from what I can tell – lots of good protein sources like chicken and beef; none of that unidentified “meat meal” stuff other brands use. Plus, they add in some fruits and veggies (hello, antioxidants!) which is just icing on the cake as far as I’m concerned.
Of course, it’s a bit pricier than bargain brand kibble but considering the health benefits for my boy Charlie, it’s totally worth it. I’d definitely recommend trying Acana if you’re thinking about giving your doggy’s diet an upgrade.
Quality food = happy pooch 🐾 That’s my motto!

MemberThe thing that really sold me though? The ingredient list. It’s got real meat as the first ingredient, no artificial colors or preservatives – basically nothing you wouldn’t want to feed your fur baby. Plus, my doggo absolutely loves the taste; her bowl is always empty in minutes!
One minor con would be the price – it’s a tad more expensive than regular varieties, but considering the health benefits and quality ingredients, I reckon it’s worth every penny. All in all – in my experience, Whole Earth Farms dog food gets two paws up! Hope that helps you make a decision!

MemberGetting the right nutrition for our larger than life fur babies can certainly feel like a Herculean task sometimes, huh? The thing with large and giant breed pups is that they have pretty unique nutritional needs compared to their smaller counterparts. They grow at such an alarming rate; it’s critical to strike the right balance between providing enough sustenance for that growth and not overdoing it to the point of obesity or other health problems.
One thing I’ve found that works wonders is seeking out specially formulated dog foods made especially for large breed puppies. These usually have the correct ratio of calcium to phosphorus (which is super important for bone health) and a more specific calorie content suitable for them.
But hey, every pup is different, right? If you’re really unsure, a chat with your vet can go a long way in clearing up any doubts. They might even recommend some additional supplements based on your fuzzball’s unique dietary needs.
Oh by the way, remember training treats count as part of their daily calorie intake too. Keep those to a minimum and focus on lots of love, playtimes, and belly rubs instead!
Hope you find this useful 😀 Happy Puppy Parenting!

MemberI love that Nutro emphasizes natural ingredients and doesn’t add artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. While it’s slightly pricier in comparison to other brands, honestly, seeing how much Max loves it and how it’s helped with his health issues really makes it worth it for me. So yeah, I’d give Nutro a big thumbs up!

MemberJust read your post and thought I’d share my experience with Badlands Ranch dog food. I switched my Lab, Benny, onto it about 6 months ago and honestly, we’ve had a pretty positive experience so far. He’s got more energy than ever and his coat―oh boy, it’s glossier!
He was struggling with some digestive issues on his old grub, but since the switch―nada! His pooch poos are back to normal. Personally, I love how it’s grain-free too since Benny has a minor grain allergy.
That being said, every pup is different. Benny loves the Bison & Pumpkin flavour but wasn’t too enthused about the Salmon & Sweet Potato one – wouldn’t touch it. Plus the kibbles are a bit larger than most other brands, so keep that in mind if you’ve got a smaller breed or older dog who may have trouble chewing.
The biggest bugbear for me thogh is the price – it’s definitely on the steep side compared to others in the market. But then again, you’re paying for quality ingredients and good health for your furry friend.
All things considered, It’s been a thumbs up from me and Benny for Badlands Ranch dog food! Hope this helps in your decision making.

MemberI’d say his coat is shinier and he seems to have more energy compared to when I was using another brand. Plus, his bowel movements are regular which, you know, not a fun topic but as dog owners we gotta keep tabs on that stuff!
My vet also gave thumbs up mentioning it’s grain-free and rich in protein. Prices can be a bit steep, yes, but for me it’s absolutely worth it considering it’s beneficial for my buddy.
One tiny downside (at a stretch) was that my order arrived later than projected once during peak holiday season order volume, not a deal breaker but noteworthy.
All in all, my vote goes to Earthborn—vibrant health, tasty meals… what else could a pooch ask for? Though every dog is different so what works for mine may not work for yours. Cheers!
07/19/2024 at 12:19 PM in reply to: Go Solutions Dog Food Review: The Impact on Furbaby Health #2658lively_poodle_8214
MemberBut one thing to note is that every dog’s system reacts differently. My Labrador took to the food immediately, no issues whatsoever with digestion or anything. But my German Shepherd had a bit of an upset tummy for about a week before her body adjusted to the new formula.
The ingredient list is also pretty stellar – meat first, grain-free and a decent balance of fruits and veggies too. And it seems like these guys stand behind their products, don’t think I’ve ever waited longer than 48 hours for customer service to get back to me.
Do keep in mind though that transitioning should be done gradually no matter what brand you switch to, give their bodies time to adapt y’know? Hope this helps anyone eyeballing GO Solutions. Give it a shot!”

MemberJust saw your post about TLC dog food annd I thought I’d throw my two cents in! We’ve been feeding our Lab, Max, with TLC for a good couple of years now. Changing his diet to TLC was probably the best decision we made health-wise. He loves it, has maintained a steady weight, his coat is super shiny and he’s always full of energy.
The ingredient list is impressive too, lots of real meats and veggies, none of the dodgy fillers you find in some brands. Plus, the fact that it gets delivered to our doorstep is a huge plus. Totally convenient!
Of course, every dog is different so it might not work for everyone but sharing from personal experience here, no regrets with TLC. Make sure to transition slowly though, if you’re considering a switch. Good luck!

MemberAs soon as we made the switch to Instinct, she perked up almost immediately – shiny coat, healthy weight, lots of energy; the whole works! I especially love that it has chunks of raw meat alongside the dry stuff. It’s kind of like a bonus treat for Bella. The ingredients list is impressive too – lots of natural proteins and minerals with no fillers or sketchy sounding chemicals.
One downside though – it’s on the pricier side. But in exchange for my girl’s wellbeing, that’s a trade-off I’m willing to make. She’s worth every penny.
Hope this helps! And remember – every dog is unique so you might still want to test it out to see if your pup takes to it. Let us know how it goes!
